Published Works
My news and feature stories have appeared in many national consumer publications and websites, among them BusinessWeek, Parents, Parenting, U.S. News & World Report, Shape, Glamour, Elle, USA Weekend, and AOL’s DailyFinance.com, where I ghostwrote a popular column, The Dr. Is In. My essays have appeared in The Washington Post, Brain, Child, ASJA Confidential, PBS’s Next Avenue, and Six Hens.
I am the author of Blood, Sweat, and Tears: An Oral History of the American Red Cross. The book is the first narrative history of the Red Cross since the 1950s and was published to coincide with the organization’s 125th anniversary in 2006. In 2013 I co-edited Ink Stained, a collection of essays by the members of the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism class of 1992.
